scarcity of blog tasks

Yes, it’s been a scarcity of tasks for me when it comes to blogging. Somehow, I still can’t get enough opportunities for me to be able to write more blog posts.

But I’m taking some time, it’s been a good spike the past few months but I still hope I can gain the momentum.

How to detect a Paypal Scam

You have to do better than that you Paypal scammers!

This is the second time that I received an email from somebody who was claiming that they’re from PAYPAL, telling me to update my records to protect my account. I checked my Yahoo email one morning and got this message below telling me that my account will be suspended on September 20 in case I don’t update my records.

I am more vigilant in detecting these Paypal Scams but there are still a lot who are not aware to distinguish the fake ones from the real ones. That’s why I took the time to create this blog entry to help out and spread the news on How to detect Paypal Email Scams. I’ve had issues before because somebody hacked my Paypal account but when it was resolved, I was really glad.

—————
Notice the “To” and “From” fields, it didn’t even put my actual email and their email address is completely a hoax! tp-verify@accouts.net??? Is it even an email at all? I wouldn’t want to use ‘accouts.net’ as an email. Sheesh.

paypal scam6

This Paypal scam update told me to update my information by clicking on the link that was written down. They even used a Paypal link to direct it to the page. When I opened the page up, it had a different link altogether! Haha, another trick in the bag that got busted!

paypal scam4

I tried to type in some details on the page provided just for the heck of it. You have to give it to them though, it was a fair attempt to imitate the actual feel of the Paypal homepage. They even included some common links that we usually see when we sign in to Paypal as well as a picture of the paypal advertisement.

Upon closer inspection though, I found out that the links for the “Home”, “Personal”, “Business” etc. as well as the footer links were not click-able! My mouse would just treat those links as actual pictures! Except for the Account log-in section, all the other information are illegitimate!

So I typed in a dummy (with a curse) account and password to see where it would lead me to.

paypal scam

When I clicked on “Log In”, it gave me another fake Paypal page that told me to write some more pertinent information. Wow, so many details that they need. Even if they did not ask for my credit card number, enough was already needed to steal my identity and access my Paypal account.

I typed in some more fake information and hit “Enter” to see where the Paypal scam would lead me to.

paypal scam2

Alas, filling out all the information, it now directed me to one of the legit Paypal sites! Hmmm. Very funny indeed. I could tell the distinction because of the link which now had an “https” and the domain is from Paypal.com itself.

paypal scam3

I could now click on the actual links (Home, Personal, Business etc.) and all seemed normal already. The only problem is that those Paypal scammers/losers have already gotten your information and you would be saying goodbye to your account sooner than later.

paypal scam5

I hate these Paypal scammers. People like me are trying to make some decent income and are very thankful for services like Paypal to easily transact business with different people but there are just those scams and fakes that really get into my nerve.

We are glad that we can easily transact with other people using these legitimate platforms but it’s really sad that there are people who don’t have anything better to do but steal your identity and crack you up.

I better report this to the proper people first before an innocent victim falls prey to these losers.

Charter’s Camaro Sweepstakes

I published a blog entry before about Charter’s contest wherein they were giving away a laptop everyday for two months; now the stakes have gotten even bigger. They have now switched to raffling out a brand new 2010 Camaro 2SS! I would flip if I could win this !

The Camaro Sweepstakes contest runs from September 15 through November 26 at noon. Also, you can get a $100 gift card when you buy 3 Charter services, $50 gift card for 2 services, and $25 gift card when you buy 1 Charter service. The gift cards are from major retailers in clothing, home and accessories, restaurants and more! That’s a great deal altogether already.

Note: Sales Tax included in the prize

I would like to get my hands on this baby. With a 426 hp, this car has got to be one of the fastest and hardest cars to get in North America, and Charter is giving it away free! You can add Charter on Facebook and follow Charter on Twitter for more information. Ah, what will they think of next? A jet plane? haha.

You can just go to charter.com/camaro to register today and to view the complete rules, specifications on the Camaro and more! I have to go and sign up now.

counting money

I shouldn’t be counting my money as if I have it in my hands. But I can’t help it since the past few days weeks, I’ve been counting the money that I’ll be receiving from the different opportunities that I’ve earned. SocialSpark, Google Adsense, ODesk, Payperpost; so far, these are the only money-making avenues that I’m active in.

counting money

I should not count because if I do, I’m going to expect that it will arrive; which will give me the excuse to splurge the money that I have now since I will be reasoning out that I’m going to get something. I know it’s just self-control and discipline but then temptation is truly great.

I will lose the essence of living a simple life if I focus too much on it.

because of blogging, i bought a new phone

My phone was cracking up whenever I would receive a message from one of my contacts that I knew I had to buy a new phone. So I bought a new T700 which I liked since I wanted my new phone to be from Sony Ericcson. I chose this one as this was the cheapest among the items on promo, anyway I’m not that big on cellphones. At least I’d have something to listen to whenever I’d like to play some music and such.

Again, it’s all because of blogging that I was able to buy this new phone. Hope to keep these gadgets coming!

juggling the time

Been pretty busy, busy, busy. I haven’t updated my blogs at all! Darn it. I’m being swamped with more tasks but I’m not complaining. I’ve been also trying to juggle the money that I earn (salary plus extra income from blogging). Hopefully, I’ll be able to meet them all (the deadlines I mean). Somehow, I feel like I’m tiring myself too much but the revenue isn’t as rewarding as it should.

I’m now at the day shift and I know that my money wouldn’t be as rewarding since I’ll be stripped off from the night differential pay as an addendum for staying up at night to work.

I’ll be going to school by Monday so hopefully I’ll be able to juggle everything properly. I need time management.

win an ipod

My brother has just bought a new ipod nano so he could put all his music into it. However, I’m setting my eyes on getting an iPod Touch and I’m saving up some money to get one. One crazy giveaway from Netfirms contest is for you to have a chance to win new (4) iPod Touches or a (1) Macbook.

All you have to do either of the following:

Tweet this out:

“Win a #free iPod Touch or Macbook from the @Netfirms #contest. Domain registration services via Twitter http://bit.ly/yJfJK”

OR

Register a domain name via the Netfirms Twitter Domain Registration service for $7.99.

One retweet equals one entry per day. One domain registered equals one entry.

So how does it work?
You simply send a Direct Message to Netfirms via Twitter asking us to register a domain name for you. If the domain name is available we will register it for you and automatically add it to your existing Netfirms Control Panel and bill to your current billing profile. The only prerequisite is that you add your Twitter username to your Netfirms Control Panel. Please visit our tutorial with full details on setting yourself up for domain registration via Twitter. The instructions should be completed once only and you’re good to go after that.

1. Log in to your Twitter account (You can use any of the available Twitter apps)
2. Send a dm to @netfirms with the following: reg mynewdomain.com
3. We will confirm by replying to you via dm at which point the domain will be added to your Netfirms Control Panel. The domain is now ready to be used.

I wish to get my own music and entertainment player that’s really portable and handy.

been inactive

Whoa, I’ve been inactive the past few days. sheesh. I guess I was pretty bored and I got tired of writing –> such a rare occurrence. But then, I didn’t really have that much time so I’ve been lagging on my entries and I haven’t dropped entrecard to my visitors too! I better work on this soon unless I want to lower my rankings which is something I don’t ever  want to do.

burned out

I need to finish 10 blog articles for an employer and two article rewrites for another in oDesk. I’m way passed my deadline but I hope I can still catch up. Darn it, what has gotten into me. Maybe I’m burned out, but I still have to comply; else I lose all these regular tasks which is what I don’t want to happen.

busy blogger with an hp540

I am an HP540 and I was bought by my master some time this year. I was bought by cold blogging money. Yes, Ed really has a lot of earnings (though not as much) when he started venturing into his own website and creating blogs of different sorts. He is really happy to be able to buy a laptop that he could carry wherever he wants. Although he’s not a gamer, he’s a serious blogger and worker. He carries me around almost wherever so he could keep on working on tasks and other opportunities he could get out of blogging.

You can just imagine how many pictures are in my hard drive as well, I have to remind him to get a portable one to back up his files just to be safe. Anyway, I have to get going; it seems like I’m going inside another cafe again to work. What a busy master; definitely a busy blogger.

You want to buy me? HP has some coupon deals that you might want to take advantage of:
$30 stackable site-wide coupon
Suggested messaging: $30 off orders $150 or greater at HP Home Store. Use coupon code SV2132.

Note: Valid through 10/31 or while supplies last. Restrictions and exclusions apply.
